I would also recommend Spyware Doctor. I’ve used it for a couple of years now and my computer has been spyware free and running like a champ ever since I started using it.

It has won numerous awards and has a solid reputation.

A great spyware removal program should have the following features:

1. A HUGE threat database and a high killing efficiency. A spyware removal tool can only detect what is in it’s database so you want to purchase from a company that CONSTANTLY keeps their software updated against the new threats.

2. Realtime protection such as ActiveX defense. Detection and removal are really only half the game. You need an antispyware program that PROTECTS you from future attacks.

3. Browser hijacking defense. Prevent your browser from being hijacked and bombarded with pop up ads or webpage redirections.

Malware is one word for everything that can harm/infect your PC, such as viruses, trojans, spyware, rootkits,etc.

Zone Alarm is a firewall with spyware, if you have Zone Alarm pro, but with limited capabilities.

Download SpywareBlaster, run it to block every possible harmful sites out there.

Remember to update it and run in at least twice a month.

Then download Spybot S&D ,INSTALL IT UPDATE IT, RUN IT.

With it’s teatimer load on startup, prevent programs to make changes at windows registry. And if a spyware/trojan can’t modify registry it’s NO RISK for your PC. Plus Spybot it will remove any spyware already have.

YOU NEED KASPERSKY INTERNET SECURITY it is by far one of the best protection softwares out there. It monitors your computer and does not hog up your system with B.S.

you can download a 30day trial period and see for your self and if you like it purchase a license key and your good to go. If it does not fit you then just uninstall. Hell you don’t even have to tell them your name so what do you have to loose.

I use Spybot; Search and Destroy, and Ad-Aware SE, and AVGFRee for my programs to get rid of unwanted ‘varmint’ programs.
AVGFree is at, I’ll let you find the other two. grins

browser - - replace IE, it’s a malware magnet junk
antivirus -
antispyware -

firewall -
They are all the best in their category and FREE. Stay away from AVG, Norton or security suites.
