Thank you so much for asking this question,,,,my computer is hooked up thru cable and runs as slow as dial up and then I read where Spyware loads up and slows your computer down, but I didn’t know what to do about it.
You got so many great answers,,,,it is great people take the time to help each other.

Assuming you are running Windows, you can go to microsoft.com and download Windows Defender. It’s in the Security section. It worked great for me(now i own a MacBook),and it updates regularly. It is absolutly free of charge.

This will get you more than just spybot removal. Get the AVG free edition of virus killer

(1) If you have not already scanned your comp with spybot do that now .Update it and then run it so it gets rid of all the spyware and trojans in safe mode
(2) Do an online virus scan to check if you still have any other viruses in your computer. And let us know if the online virus scan still finds any virus or spyware .
(3) Get you self a good antivirus or a free one if your present anti virus is not protecting you .
