Elsie

Hello all. I've had this problem for about 4 days now. I'm using PC Guard which seems to be a pretty common denominator for this problem. I understand that the CA Internet security suite both finds and fixes the problem but you
have to pay for the privelege. I tried downloading a 90 day free trial but unfortunately the program I need (ie AntiSpyware) wont download on my machine for some reason. I'm getting a bit fed up with it now. I've advised Virginmedia of the problem and am awaiting their response.
I thought they would have updated a 'fix' before now, but maybe I have to be a little more patient....Good luck to fellow sufferers!

Bertha

Since you are using Verizon Internet Security Suite, you will need to contact Tech Support. They will, in turn, contact RadialPoint and the RadialPoint agent will need to remotely access your computer and remove VISS and install the new version of VISS (Verizon Internet Security Suite). Takes about :30 mins. What is happening is that your VISS is has not auto updated itself and you are stuck in Version 5.x land instead of Version 6.0.1.21393.

The Pigeon AXLM is a very old and relatively harmless SpyWare, per the RadialPoint Agent, compared to today's current variants of SpyWare. Your older version is not allowing this to be removed from you system and you'll need to have the new update installed. Just have Tech Support send you over to RadialPoint and they will take care of your issue.

Please, DO NOT mess with the REGISTRY!! Call Tech support first and get this fixed.

Hope this helps. It did for me and I no longer have the Pigeon AXLM warnings.

Leon

You are infected with spyware if:

* You see too much pop-up advertisements.
* Your browser has toolbars that you haven't installed.
* Your homepage has changed (and you can't change it back).
* Other settings have changed without your permission.
* Your computer is slow.

To get rid of spyware and keep your computer clean you can use an antispyware or even more.
You can download a antispyware software. There are 10 good anti-spywares.
here is the reviews:

You can download one and scan your system.
All are safe and can be trusted.

Tina

Scan again with your anti-spyware program in safe mode and try and attempt removal again (also in safe mode).

In general, Windows does not allow the deletion of files when they are in use. However, Safe Mode will only load a minimum amount of drivers and services to run Windows, giving removal a better chance. Scan again and attempt to delete while your computer is in safe mode.

To access Safe Mode, reboot then repeatedly press the F8 key at the first screen. The screen will look strange, but don't panic. This is normal in Safe Mode.

When finished removing that pest, reboot again to return to normal mode.

Herman

It could be a false-positive (false alarm) or it could be something very new.

Try an online scan using either/both:
NOD32:
BitDefender:

If it is a new 'virus' it might be a little time before the antivirus, etc, companies pick up on it. In which case, maybe you'll have to live with it for a little longer, then try scanning again.

You could submit a HijackThis log to a specialist forum such as:

A trained specialist will look through your HJT log and see if there's anything suspicious.
