Consider using Firefox instead of Internet Explorer
If you already have a virus, try running the cleaner programs in Safe Mode (hit the F8 function key as the machine boots up, and choose Safe mode)

Avast Antivirus ( ) - it has a boot time scanner. Update then do a - Full Scan. Do a boot time scan in safe mode. Reason… Many stubborn trojans and viruses can only be remove with a boot time scan. Good Luck.

this is pretty good, it does not slow your computer down as much as other anti-virus software. The only bad thing is that it’s only a 90 day free trial.

Try AVG Free 8.0. It is good and machine friendly. Go to free.avg,com and follow instructions to do it.

Try the webpage “www.phazeddl.com” and search for the specific software name; such as “Panda” or “Norton” or “Symantec”. The web page will direct you to the URL to download the software. Note that the downloaded files will be compressed with either Winzip or Winrar (which can also be downloaded from the same web page).

Choose only one Anti Virus program
Superantispyware and Malwarebytes free version are just scanners they offer no real time protection but they can still remove malicious programs just keep the up to date as you should with all your programs.
