goto it has loads of free firewalls, virus scanners, and other apps, i strongly suggest you get microsofts ‘windows defender’ it will sort this issue for you no problem. (assuming you have legitimate copy of windows)

I finally found a program that actually works, at least for me..its called SuperAntiSpyware and I downloaded it from download.com after viewing a list of anti-spyware. Name sounds like a ripoff but it works for me.

Ok, you must have browsed a site. . .which planted spyware on your PC.
DOnt worry it is fixable. . .i was there a few months ago. First of all download a copy of “Hijack this”

& also get ur hands on Spybot Search & Destroy

then, reboot in safe mode. Run S&D, delete the Unwanted Registery keys,
then run Hijack this. & see if there is any BHO’s that u dont approve. delete those. this should help restore it back to normal.

P.S Windows Defender sux, AG Grissoft Free version is full of Adware, . .it didnt catch the things Spybot S&D caught.

There are at least 3 different infections that cause those phony spyware ads. All have different cures. Does it perhaps advertise “Raze Antispyware”?

Are they full pop-ups or a small balloon coming from your from down by the clock?

Do the popups say “Messenger Service” any where on the title bar?

What is the product it is trying to sell you?

Please edit your question with more information.

If your getting ANY type of popups it can be either spyware or virus related.

    Excellent spyware removal is AdawareSE

Excellent anti virus program works behind what Nortan misses is AVG Free Edition —— Yes you can have 2 antivirus software on same PC. Just dont use Nortan or any other virus programs with built in firewalls (ex McAfee)

    Both are FREE and work.
Preventive maintenance will be to use a Internet Explorer browser ex: Yahoo or Google Toolbar, Mozilla etc to keep the pop ups from occuring.

Trend Micro HouseCall is a free online based scan that scans and removed spyware, viruses and alerts if you have windows security issues.

    Good Luck

hi, i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. which is most powerful in popup blocking..

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

    download firefox for free:

    Best Wishes && Good Luck!
