Is it alright ro remove AVG anti-spyware and replace with Spybot?
Loco Hobo Homey asked:
I have installed AVG anti-spyware free version and have a lot of spywares in quarantine, now I wan to replace it with Spybot Search and Destroy. Is it adviseable to uninstall AVG? What will happen to the spywares in the quarantine since I can’t delete those manually? Or shall I leave it there and install Spybot? What?
I mean AVG anti-spyware, not AVG anti-virus for all you dumbers out there!

AVG is an antivirus software, Spybot is a spyware remover. You can have both softwares on your computer simultaneously. From

I believe you can install both of them at the same time. Install Avast, run a boot scan, then uninstall AVG.
There *should* be a way to delete your quarantined files in AVG, but I am not as familiar with it.
edit: Whoops, I read that as Avast antivirus for some reason. Spybot does not replace AVG, you need both an antispyware AND a antivirus.

You don’t need to uninstall AVG. You can have both programs on the same machine. In fact most people use more than one spyware program just to make sure.
Personally I like the AVG best.
You might also consider spyware blaster because it inoculates your browsers so you won’t get an infection. At least it’s a barrier.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT REMOVE IT!
AVG is NOT anti-spyware. It is an anti-virus that takes care of a lot of spyware too and you should be able to delete quarantined items. It is designed to keep really bad things off your computer.
Install SpyBot or AdAware in addition and use both.

Keep things as they are and download Spybot S&D as well,
what “one” misses, the other is likely to catch.

To get rid of spyware and keep your computer clean you have to use an antispyware or even more. You can download a antispyware software.
There are the best and newest top ten anti-spywares in 2007.

You don’t have to remove AVG to add Spybot, they don’t conflict. You can have several anti-spyware tools, in fact, the more the better. No one anti-spyware catches everything. I have both, plus AdAware 2007
Windows Defender

you can use more than one antispy ware try this anti virus and anti spy ware i find them excellent
antivirus and spyware programs, if you are looking for a free antivirus and spyware, well I have been using these two for the last month or so, on a trial by myself, and so far, they are as good as any, that I have tried, if not better, since installing them they have picked up any and all known viruses and spyware.
The spyware impressed me, when I installed a torrent tool bar, that was full of spyware it not only removed the spyware it removed the tool bar as well, which impressed me.
The two programs are AVAST home and SPYWARE TERMINATOR, I would recommend these two programs to protect your systems.
The first link is avast antivirus
This is the link for spyware terminator
This is the link to a group that I have started for myself but I think it will be of future use to everyone that wants to join
