Actually probably the best antivirus program on the market is free and that is AVG antivirus. Also, spybot search and destroy will get rid of any registry errors and addware and that is free also. Good luck.

kaspersky….i think the entire internet security suite is 60 dollars….
this is the best virus protection i’ve even seen
tried norton, mccafee, pctrillian
avg is algo very good, even the free version but so far my favorite has been kaspersky…
it doesn’t make the system slow and it has hourly updates…really recommend it!

The following are all free. I use them and I import malware etc for research so programs have to work, and these do just that:
Avast anti-virus which better definitions, anti-spyware and anti-rootkit built in, faster and more reliable:
Setup Guide:
AV Comparison:
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:.
Download, install, update and select Full Scan.
Remove all infections that it finds after scan.
SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition:
Download, install, check for updates, then select Scan your Computer, select your drive and select Perform Complete Scan
Spybot S&D:
Download, install, update and Immunize, turn off Tea Timer then click ‘Check for problems’ then when complete select all and then ‘Fix Checked’
Open Spybot, click on Mode, select Advanced, click on Tools then Resident and untick Resident ‘Tea Timer’
Do NOT untick Resident ‘SD Helper’ as that is your protection.

Download install, update and run.

many people will say many things everybody has a antivirus program that works for them
id say bullguard is the best its only a 60day trial
but the beauty is if you share you bullguard login details with me then once your 60day trial is up i will give you another 90day trial
So what do you have to loose NOTHING as its free and hey if you do decide you like it then you can even buy it
i find this is the best way as i ust to buy antivirus until i found out i was just wasting money as they werer all crap

I had the same problem. i tried a bunch of free adware programs but eventually had to buy one.
I went with the NoAdware program. I tried their free trial and then ended up getting it. It’s only $40 and worked above and beyond my expectations. you can check it out here.
