   an ‘anti-hacker’ program is called a firewall. It prevents unauthorised machines connecting to your computer and damaging it, and can also prevent malicious software ‘phoning home’ with your credit card details to its creator. I use Comodo:

   Anti-spyware software finds spyware on your computer and removes it. Spyware is software which installs itself surreptitiously on your computer and collects your details. I use Spyware Terminator (turn off web security guard):
   Spybot: (use immunise feature)
   Superantispyware:

   Make sure you have anti-virus: Avira: (if you don’t have anti-virus, or if you have Norton or AVG replace it with this)
