Why does the latest toolbar update not include the free anti-spyware that was on the old one?

I received an update notice and downloaded the latest version of yahoo toolbar. But now, instead of the free yahoo anti-spyware that was there before, there is an offer for a 30-day free trial with Norton anti-spy, etc. Where is the old, perpetually free version? Can I get it back?

    i hate norton..always plan to.

    i have a update notice but just dont click it =p

    i still have the old version

    Yeah, I hate Norton too. I don’t know if you can get the old one back, maybe you should contact Yahoo technical help.

    Yahoo.com inc. has more than likely discontinued the anti-spyware option in the yahoo toolbar as such I recomend a free program called spybot search and destroy that will locate and remove 41,952 known spyware bots that install spyware to your system. the url is have fun removing spyware from your system. Fair warning the program has a slight graphics problem.

    I highly recommend you download SUPERantispyware. It will remove any and all spyware. It is VERY VERY effective and it is free.

    Microsoft offers Defender for free. It is a great anti-spy.

    hi, i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. which is more powerful and easy to use.

    firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.
